Aloha, & Welcome
Imagine a world where people know they have all the tools they need to heal themselves spiritually, mentally and emotionally; where disease and chronic stress are rare; and where trauma is quickly recognised and healed.
That’s my vision for the world.
Impossible? Well, that was the state of Hawaii when Captain Cook and his merry men first ‘discovered’ it. A group of happy, healthy, well-balanced people with their own healing traditions and understanding of all forms of illness. Cook’s men documented it.
I’m a teacher, coach, mentor and healer. I help people find the fastest routes to deep mental, emotional (and so, sometimes, physical) healing and change. I use many different strands of knowledge in my work. In particular I combine the ancient wisdom of Huna – the secret spiritual, healing and life teachings of the ancient Hawaiians – with modern coaching principles. I also teach other coaches to accelerate and deepen the results their clients get by combining ancient wisdom and modern coaching practices.
When I first became aware that teaching people to heal was my purpose in life it seemed a very big task. At the same time, I know from my own experience just how powerful tools and principles like forgiveness, living with aloha, emotional release, resolving personal conflicts, connecting to your purpose and developing your personal connection with higher consciousness can be.
I was also conflicted. I’d spent much of my working life in the corporate and consultancy world, moving into organisational and executive coaching in the late 1990s, and it took me a long time to reconcile the two, and to stand in my own power as both a career and leadership coach and trainer and a spiritual teacher and healer.
It was the tools I learned from Huna that helped me to do this.
Self-Healing With Huna, Ho’oponopono and Aloha
One of the reasons I love using Huna to help other people, is because it was a major factor in my own recovery from clinical depression.
When I realised I was clinically depressed (even before I got the official diagnosis), I resolved to heal myself without using the pills. It was a long journey, and I travelled down many roads, but what finally started my recovery was the discovery of NLP.
Through NLP, I discovered Huna. There are many elements to Huna that help self-healing, but for me the big ones were learning about forgiveness (ho’oponopono), experiencing love at the deepest level (aloha), and applying a spiritual release technique. If you only ever learned about those 3 things, you could create a radically happier life.
And so begun a journey that I have now been on for nearly 20 years.
Coaching & Supervision
With nearly 25 years’ coaching experience, I am one of the most experienced coaches in the UK. When I started, coaching had barely started to emerge as a profession. Training courses were few and far between, and definitions of coaching varied wildly, depending on who you spoke to!
Thankfully that has changed, and we are infinitely more professional in our attitudes to coach training and development.
I am passionate about making coaching a profession, rather than a hobby, and to this end I have been involved in the professionalisation of the industry for a number of years, in several ways. Firstly in my work as a developer of coaches, including working for training organisations to help them assess and teach coaches and providing supervision and mentoring to coaches. Secondly as a member of the Association for Coaching’s team creating a set of coaching competences against which coaches could be assessed for accreditation.
I run my own coach training course and provide career and leadership coaching and development workshops to organisations and individuals, in addition to my Huna-based healing work.
I am both a Fellow of the Association for Coaching and an ICF PCC-level coach.
